Fitbit’s New Tracker Is The Company’s Cheapest Device Yet


Fitbit’s new tracker is company’s cheapest device yet. Fitbit has recently released a activity and sleep tracker, but its not easy to have one. It’s only available to those businesses whose health plan is signed up with Fitbit.

The company didn’t rollout the new Fitbit Inspire with any event. It just revealed a few details on a website which some employees found on their corporate sites.

Besides tracking activity and delivering phone alerts, this new tracker features heart rate monitoring and GPS. The Fitbit has not revealed the price but it’s the company’s cheapest device yet.

Fitbit is finding difficult to beat its competitors in the consumer market. Apple Watch has increased market share in wearables as well as China’s Xiaomi is also at the top position. While stock of Fitbit is 68 percent down from its IPO price.

“These special release trackers are available exclusively through Fitbit corporate, wellness, health plan, and health systems partners and customers of their organizations, participants, and members,” Fitbit wrote on the site.

CEO James Park said that the revenue of the company is growingly associated business business customers. He reported that Fitbit has 6.8 million patients, health plan members, and employee signed up with Fitbit.

The company is focusing on selling the devices with the help of private Medicare plans. In fact, it is currently working with UnitedHealth and planning to sell seniors in 27 states.

“We built it as a program for digital health interventions,” Park said this week.
